Amazon plans to release a video game console in November 2013, just in time for holiday sales. I could only wonder how impressive those sales could be since the console would play Android games. That’s right, Amazon plans to release an Ouya clone, because that little gem is doing all so well.
Of course, perhaps I’m too close minded on this. Perhaps there is a market and I’m just not seeing it.
Imagine if 1ups did a little more than merely give you another chance to not suck. Imagine if the extra ships you acquired could actually be used to increase your firepower by amassing into an armada.
Sounds like it might be a headache, but Shoot 1up handles the concept very well. The visuals are very nice, the controls are responsive, the fast techno music compliments, and some of the bosses are memorable. The main negative is that the pace of the game may be too fast. Some levels last as long as a WarioWare mini-game and consisted of waves of forgettable enemies. But perhaps the latter could be said of most SHMUPs.
In sumation, Shoot 1up is a fun and worthwhile indie game available on Xbox Live Arcade.
Attention, calling all gamers, retro gamers, and those that simply love nostalgia to come on over and check out Couple Gaming.
I know what you’re probably thinking, why would you want to just watch a random couple play video games, but I’m sure you can recall a time when you enjoyed video games with friends. A time when you got together with a friend, or a group of friends, to play Super Mario World, 007 Golden Eye, or Final Fantasy VII to completed the entire game, while consuming a mass amount of pizza and soda.
For some, these might be considered the good-ole days, but for most of us they’re fond memories. Memories that we want to revisit due to that sweet taste of nostalgia, and while you might not be able to recreate those moments, you can get that same awesome sensation by watching Couple Gaming.
